Notifications

What triggers a notification?

Common notification triggers include:

  • You receive an invite to a club, event, or team.
  • Your event registration is confirmed (or waitlisted).
  • A score is submitted for your match.
  • Your match has a court assigned and is ready to play.
  • An event you are registered for is updated or cancelled.
  • A court booking is confirmed or cancelled.
  • You are checked in to an event.
  • Someone accepts or declines your invite.

How do I see my notifications?

Click the bell icon in the top navigation bar. A dropdown shows your recent notifications and pending invites. Unread notifications show a red badge count. Click View all notifications for the full history.

Do I get email notifications?

Yes. Important actions (registration confirmations, match scores, event cancellations) send email notifications to your registered email address. All emails follow the format “Q4Fun - [Action] - [Detail]” in the subject line.

What about SMS notifications?

SMS is available for clubs and events that generate revenue (paid events, paid bookings). If your phone number is on file, you may receive text messages for time-sensitive alerts like upcoming matches and court assignments.

How do notification tiers work?

There are three levels of notifications:

  • Global (Q4Fun) — Platform-wide announcements and account alerts.
  • Club-level — Club announcements and membership updates.
  • Event-level — Event-specific updates (scores, schedule changes, reminders).

By default, you are opted in to event-level notifications for events you register for.

Can I mute notifications?

You can manage notification preferences in your account settings. You can opt out of non-critical notifications while still receiving essential ones (payment receipts, registration confirmations).

What is the activity feed?

The activity feed on your Dashboard is different from notifications. It shows a broader view of recent activity across your clubs and personal actions. You can filter between “My Activity” (your registrations, scores, bookings) and “Club News” (club-wide announcements like new events or facility changes).
